Sixty-nine years later, the fire company still survives solely on donations and fund raisers which are run by the members of the fire company and the ladies auxiliary throughout the year.

As Barnegat Light has grown along with the rest of Long Beach Island, so have duties and requirements of the volunteers and their companies. The Barnegat Light Vol. Fire Company provides fire protection to not only Barnegat Light, but High Bar Harbor and the north end of Loveladies as well. Along with fire protection, the company also provides surf/water rescue as well as ice rescue services to all of Long Beach Island and the surrounding area.

The people who live and work in Barnegat Light, High Bar Harbor and Loveladies are still as supportive as they've ever been, but with the rising cost of apparatus, equipment and training, every little bit helps.
